Financial support at University

Today we had a talk about financial support at university,  from the finance co-ordinator from the University of Kent to help us realise not to worry about the costs because of all the help that is out there. We were told what was available to students when going to Uni, everything to know about loans and grants.

A tuition fee is open to every new student. And there are also maintenance loans and grants. These help you with your living at University. These range dependant on what you are entitled too, because of your household incomes.

After University, there is repaying back the loans. This is all dependant on your future incomes.

Extra support can be offered for those entitled too it, for example learning difficulties etc.

The talk has helped to realise that although University is expensive, there is a lot of help out there in order to support the students to still be able to go and how money and debts shouldnt be a problem.

Trip to Borough Market & Southbank

On 20/9/12 our graphics group visited London for a day out at Borough Market and Southbank. This was all to help with research for our advertising project.

We left the college at 9.00am and arrived an hour or so later. We went straight to Borough where we were all introduced to a lady who briefed us on what she is after from us for a poster promoting the market. The aim is too encourage the locals to come and do their weekly shop. This was helpful to know as it will help with idea generation for the project.

We then explored the market itsself in detail, walked about looking at the stalls and what was sold there. We had lunch around the area. I tried tasters as I walked around.

We met back and made our way towards Southbank. We went straight to the Tate museum, and then along to look at the Skatepark, the art there was really cool. And down to the OXO tower and an exhibition. Bankside gallery.

It was a productive and fun trip.
